Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You generally lay a bet (a dollar is the usual amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like these are very tempting, they are also incredibly hard to win. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, picture this- you wager twenty hands and place the side wager each time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet in place of a sucker wager. Just think about what you could have been able to win at a wager with better odds employing that $20.
Individual number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the overall casino advantage from twopercent with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The individual number wager has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much lower casino advantage.
Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you gamble on it, the casino advantage can be a whopping 25%. No, that is not a error. Because of the large set of numbers you have to select, it’s not recommended to wager on Keno to often. A few times for fun, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will immediately discover yourself bankrupt.
